WHO WE WERE AND WHO WE ARE
ENGLISH VERSION:
Driveway Fall are a melodic punk trio formed in Turin, Italy, in May 2014 although the story of Marco "Mike" Delrio (guitars and vocals) and Walter "Steel" Visca (bass guitar) dates back several years. Officially, the band was born in 2008 and was called Deadline Disaster, with Marco and Walter trying to improve their skills and drummer Nadir Paradiso to complete the band. The trio recorded a first 4 tracks Demo EP at Double Dominant Studio, in Turin. When Nadir quit the band, after several months with no official releases, Luca Cescon, hardcore drummer joined the two to work on their first album. In 2010 and 2011 the band started playing live, in Northern Italy, especially in Turin. Right before the recordings of the first album, Luca quit the band and the remaining two members decided to record a full-lenght 10 tracks album anyway. So Marco played the drums for the self-produced album called "DEMOns", released on a few online stores, and they changed their name into "Deadline!". After a couple of years with not much time to focus on the project, in 2014 Marco and Walter let Damiano "Dam" Giordano enter the band as drummer. The trio played a couple of times live in Turin and Savona before they changed their name into Driveway Fall. In February 2015, the band recorded the first official album, entitled "Home", at Officina Sonora, in Turin. The album was released on December 11th 2015, preceeded by two singles – "Home" and "Little Monster" – and was published on every main digital store and streaming service.
Driveway Fall's music is characterised by simple punk chords and hardcore riffs mixed with pop-punk and melodic choruses, although they like to experiment a lot on song structures.
Driveway Fall's lyrics are an important part of the songwriting process as they often develops a storyline connecting more songs, short novels and dialogues. Themes vary a lot, from heartbreaks, personal troubles, violence and wars, gothic landscapes and poetry.
